hemma

sumpan

I started a new photography project called 'hemma' ('hemma' means 'at home' in Swedish.).

The idea of the project is that whenever my friends go on trips to their homes/ home towns/ home countries, I send my camera, Rollei XF 35, with them and have them to save their memories of home/ people through the viewfinder to share with others.

None of the photos of 'hemma' project will be taken by me, however, I think the concept really works and I can't wait to see more of my friends' homes/ home towns/ home countries through their eyes.

The first one who helped me with this project is one of my dearest friends/ coworker, Daniel.

Please feel free to let me know if you happen to be my friend and want to join my 'heima' project.

my first.

my first photography book

This is my first photography book. I worked on it for Peter and his family to appreciate the beautiful memory of holiday in Black Forest last winter.

It took me quite a while to process the photos, edit, and put an order for printing. When I finally got the physical book in my hands a couple weeks ago, I was more pleased than I thought I would be.

I used iPhoto for this one but will try Blurb next time to avoid ordering and shipping issues - Apple iPhoto doesn't provide Korea on the shipping area list yet. Blurb seems to have a great feature of publication - anyone can order and buy my book once I put an order there. Who knows, my photography books can be popular, right?

I'm sure that I will put more efforts on photography book making in the near future.

live trace

lazy afternoon in vancity.

I spent sometime last night playing with live trace in Adobe Illustrator CS3. It's amazing how much time you can save by using those smart features. This image isn't satisfying... but I guess I can come up with something by experimenting.
