five.

the greatest day

My good friend, Betsy, gave me this journal quite a while ago. It's a journal that helps you planning on your next five years to come. I've been meaning to work on it since the day one I got it, however, I never got around to work on it until recent. For the past a couple of weeks, every night before I go to sleep, I spend about a half an hour on the journal and it's been helping me get a positive mind set for the next day.

This, I have to share with you.

WHAT YOU FOCUS ON INCREASES.

LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO BE CRANKY

Attitude is a choice. We create our own world by the way we choose to see it. For the next five years your mind can focus on fear, worry, problems, negativity or despair. Or it can focus on confidence, opportunity, solutions, optimism and success. You decide.

KEEP YOUR WORD
Say what you mean, and mean what you say. Look the world straight in the eyes. Live and work with honesty, openness and integrity; keep your promises, and everything else is a piece of cake.

FORGIVE EVERYONE, ESPECIALLY YOURSELF

Let go of past hurts. Feelings of resentment (or revenge) are worthless - they can only drag you down. The courage to forgive and move on is so liberating. Make it a rule: "Always be the first to forgive - especially yourself."

MOVE FORWARD

Yesterday is a canceled check. The past is not your potential. There are far better things ahead than any you leave behind. The next five years are a black canvas - clean and bright. Decide that you will throw all the paint on it you can.

QUIT WORRYING
It's been estimated that 99 out of 100 things we worry about never come to pass. If you stopped worrying about what might happen tomorrow, wouldn't that give you more time to actually enjoy and savor today? What did you worry about six months ago? A year ago? Five yearS ago? How many of your biggest worries have actually come to pass?

BE GRATEFUL

Stop and view your life through the eyes of the other six billion people on Earth. Literally hundreds of millions of people would gladly trade places with you right now - and be ecstatic.

IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS
Thinking small is an art - the art of living. The happiness of life is made up of little things - a smile, a helping hand, a caring heart, a word of praise, a moment of shared laughter. We are most alive in those moments. Savor them all.

at the end of the summer.

eat pray love

I met up with Caroline for dinner the other day before her departure to San Fran. Caroline and I met at a bookstore three years ago. We both were looking for a good Korean text book and that's how we started our the very first conversation.

After the dinner, we headed to the bookstore now to hunt a good English textbook for my student who I started teaching since the past weekend. I got three books. - English textbook for my student, Tuesdays with Morrie for Caroline, and this book, Eat Pray Love, for myself. I had a busy weekend and just started reading it at the gym tonight.

Well, now I'm back to my blog - The summer has been tediously long but it's time to get ready for the autumn.

I've been busy lately. Busy with work and lazy with life... that's probably more accurate thing to say I guess. I need some inspiration. Joshua Davis and his work inspires me. I put together his work and words that were said during Adobe Max conference in Seoul last year.

google korea added some simple icons to give korean users affordance for all the other tools it owns. i like the simpleness that still communicates.
