I stumbled upon this brilliant diptych by The 10 cent designer on Flickr the other day and wanted to share with you - whoever look for inspirations.

I think this is a great example of how to convey the inspirations around you to your work.

time for doing.

reminder to self

I got my favorite magazine on earth, NGM (june issue), in the mail yesterday. While I was going through it, I came across to this quote which I thought would be an excellent reminder to self.

I have so many ideas and thoughts on design, photography, and the life - the way I want it to be. I've done enough thinking and I think it really is the time for doing.

creative saturday

creative saturday @ cafe byul

One Wednesday evening, Justin and I were having dinner & wine at Grande in Shinsa. Wine, candlelights, and good conversation over dinner always inspire me. By the end of the evening, we came up with this random idea of getting together every Saturday and working on something creative. We call it Creative Saturday.

The first meetup happened on Saturday last week. We took over one corner with huge glass window on the second floor at Cafe Byul(Star). Such an adorable coffee & waffle place with a "wireless", yes, wireless & free, internet connection. The first Creative Saturday project was "We Dream...". We spent a couple hours to come up with a look frame or mock-up and we're pretty happy with the result.

It's another Saturday tomorrow. We have a couple of ideas on what to do. Whatever that will be, I think spending Saturday afternoon working on something creative is the best.

live trace

lazy afternoon in vancity.

I spent sometime last night playing with live trace in Adobe Illustrator CS3. It's amazing how much time you can save by using those smart features. This image isn't satisfying... but I guess I can come up with something by experimenting.

words are low resolution

Nate and I were talking on MSN the other day. Based on what he said during our conversation I came up with something simple that I might use for the t-biz I'm planning on running someday.

It basically is the idea that how hard it is to deliver complicated thoughts into words and how blurry the idea is when it's spoken.
