natalie merchant craving.

card writer

I woke up with Natalie Merchant in my head this morning - it was more like I had to listen to her right away. I listened to her on my way to the office till the battery on my ipod ran out and thought of my friend Betsy.

Betsy's has been feeling down for the past a few days. I picked up some of her favorite cookies and ice cream after work and went over to her place to listen to her and chat with her. Told her that I woke up with Natalie Merchant craving in the morning and had to listen to her all day long. It's not even funny, she had the same thing today.

There is something about Natalie Merchant, her music and her voice, makes me become really emotional and let out things when I need to.

i don't watch tv

I'm addicted to a song called "Too Long" by Yael Naim and have been listening to all day long.

It's funny how a song can mean so much of something from nothing depending on the situation you are in or the experience you are going through.

Tomorrow, I will look for a new addiction to get over the current one.

in love.

it's an alright beginning.

I'm in love. In love with this beautiful piece called ÁgæTis Byrjunn (It's an Alright Beginning) of Sigur Rós. I took this piece out of the entire music video to post it on my blog but it doesn't seem like Blogger lets me post movies with quicktime player. So instead, here's the link to the piece I uploaded on my server. Click on the picture to see the video if you need to get inspired.

It's an alright beginning

Bright hopes come true
As we walk downtown
Smiling and laughing happily
Friendship and exhaustion collide
We celebrate the day
A two year wait
A distant dream is born
We eat and drink till we're full
And pay for ourselves
With everything we have for the day
We sit down excited
Listen to ourselves play in rhythm to the music
No one seems to listen
This is completely different
We lived in another world
Where we were never invisible
A few days later
We speak again
But the sound wasn't good
We were all in agreement
In agreement about most things
We'll do better next time
This is a pretty good beginning

the calculations error.

In the morning I'd awake and I couldn't remember.
What is love and what is hate?
The calculations error.
what is love and what is hate?
And why does it matter?
Is to love just a waste?
How can it matter?

As the dawn began to break, I had to surrender.
The universe will have its way.
Too powerful to master.
What is love and what is hate?
And why does it matter?
Is to love just a waste?
How can it matter?

I listened to Harry Connick Jr. when I was in high school. Harry has his concert in Seoul and my friends and I went. Harry's a great singer, wonderful dancer, and such a funny guy on the stage. Never really paid attention to the lyric of When I fall in Love until Harry sang it tonight. It reminded me of my love, my love of life.

When I fall in love
It will be forever
Or I'll never fall in love

In a restless world like this is
Love is ended before it's begun
And too many moonlight kisses
Seem to cool in the warmth of the sun

When I give my heart
I give it completely
Or I'll never give my heart

And the moment I can feel that
you feel that way too
Is when I fall in love with you

at home.

I was introduced to Heima of Sigur Rós by Matt last night. The music and the imagery worked out perfectly together and it was one of the most beautiful things I've seen lately. I've been busy with my job and lazy with my life for the past a few months... but inspiration stimulates me. I want to put ideas together and want to come up with something decent.

I went to see this Irish film tonight. I liked the fact that this film has some great analogue quality to it - the tone, the graininess of images, and even the sound. There were a couple songs I really liked and had to buy the CD.

There were quite a few things thoughout this film that reminded me of Sean. I think he would have liked the film and wish he was there with me.

If You Want Me

Are you really here or am I dreaming
I can't tell dreams from truth
for it's been so long since I have seen you
I can hardly remember your face anymore

When I get really lonely
and the distance causes our silence
I think of you smiling
with pride in your eyes a lover that sighs

in the mountain.

I came accross to this website called Deezer a few days ago and am becoming to like it. The interface is pretty straight forward with the reason it's pretty similiar to iTunes. I wanted to test the blogging function, so here I am posting some of my favorite music.
