after hours

Juni took Daniel and me to his friend's bar after work yesterday. The temperature in Seoul reached over 31 degree celsius and the humidity in the air felt like 100%. Even the short journey to the merry way to the bar felt like forever.

It took me about 10 minutes to cool down once we got to the really cute and artistic bar, Wo Ain I. We had champaign, cheese salad, and pleasant conversation on creative projects, dream, and life. The music of Ibrahim Ferrer was so relaxing and freshly roasted coffee smelled so wonderful.

It was good to hang out with co-workers once in a while and get to know each other better in different social situation.

new friend

I had a wonderful afternoon spending time with a new friend Janessa. Janessa and I've known each other for quite a few months however it was the first time today for us to hang out alone.

After a photography exhibition, we went to a cute coffee shop to rest our feet and enjoy the summer afternoon with some tea/ coffee.

I asked her to be a part of my "We Dream" project. This is her photo I took while she was talking about her dream. I think people look the most beautiful when they talk about their dreams and passions.

I was on my way to meet Graham for dinner. Looking out the city through the bus window in a pouring rain was so beautiful and almost as good as having a good cry.

Luckly, I remembered that I had a camera with video recording function and was able to capture the beauty of the rainy evening in the city. The beautiful rainy evening was followed by a good meal with wine and wonderful conversation.

cafe pot.

I found this super cute coffee shop near the office a while ago and decided to take my wonderful friend/ co-worker, Monika, sometime. Today was the day Monika and I planned on having our creative evening with our laptops at the coffee shop, Cafe Pot.

The projection on the white brick wall, huge wooden tables, hardwood floor, and awesome teas. I would love to own a such place someday where friends gather, share creative ideas, and chill.

creative saturday

One Wednesday evening, Justin and I were having dinner & wine at Grande in Shinsa. Wine, candlelights, and good conversation over dinner always inspire me. By the end of the evening, we came up with this random idea of getting together every Saturday and working on something creative. We call it Creative Saturday.

The first meetup happened on Saturday last week. We took over one corner with huge glass window on the second floor at Cafe Byul(Star). Such an adorable coffee & waffle place with a "wireless", yes, wireless & free, internet connection. The first Creative Saturday project was "We Dream...". We spent a couple hours to come up with a look frame or mock-up and we're pretty happy with the result.

It's another Saturday tomorrow. We have a couple of ideas on what to do. Whatever that will be, I think spending Saturday afternoon working on something creative is the best.

I'm planning on having my own photo collections of different parts of Seoul. This is the second one after the fist try with Samchung-dong.

rainy day

The sky went dark and I started hearing heavy rain drops. For quite a while I enjoyed looking out the street through the glass window at work. Rainy days seem very photogenic to me although I tend to get lazy taking pictures when I have to carry an umbrella.

Rainy days always remind me of Vancouver, my second home. Rainy day always make me want to put some jazz on, drink some good coffee or wine. I miss my place in Vancouver.

The pictures were taken in Samchung-dong. Fun place with lots of art & design shops and galleries. Quite busy yet slow. It's funny I never knew such place existed in Seoul.
